HEY, BILL MAHER—HERE’S A “POLITICALLY INCORRECT” TRUTH THAT CAN’T BE “CANCELLED”:
AMERICA IS NOT, AND NEVER HAS BEEN, GREAT—EXCEPT IN ONE WAY—IT IS THE WORLD’S GREATEST OPPRESSOR AND DESTROYER OF THE ENVIRONMENT
Do You Dare to Take Up the Challenge of Trying to Refute This?
September 2, 2021
Lately, Bill Maher has been devoting a lot of attention to going after what he sees as the harm done by “cancel culture.” He has made a few good points, and some very bad ones, not getting to the heart of what is the actual problem with “cancel culture” and how this should be opposed. Worst of all, he has taken this as another occasion to once again repeat worn-out fairy tales, and vicious lies, about how great this country is!
Here, I am not going to repeat all that I have written recently in exposing what is terribly wrong with “cancel culture” and related very harmful tendencies, and the correct basis on which to oppose this.1 Instead, I am going to issue the following simple challenge to Maher.
Since you are someone who says he reads, go to the website revcom.us and read the following:
My New Year’s Statement this year (A New Year, The Urgent Need For A Radically New World—For The Emancipation Of All Humanity).
These papers by Raymond Lotta: The “Industrialization” of Sexual Exploitation, Imperialist Globalization, and the Descent Into Hell; and Imperialist Parasitism and Class‑Social Recomposition in the U.S. From the 1970s to Today: An Exploration of Trends and Changes.
Then try to make the case that this is the great country and great system you repeatedly say it is.
And invite onto your show a representative of revcom to debate this with you.
Do you have the integrity, and the courage, to do this?
If so, make it happen!
If not, shut up with your bullshit about how great this country and this system is!
